Avneet Sidhu prepares, navigates, and protects private entity and public agency clients through all transactions and projects involving real property. Avneet has over 15 years of experience working collaboratively as part of project teams with subject matter experts (e.g., engineers, biologists, financial analysts, lenders, etc.). Avneet is also practical, solutions-oriented, and strategic in ensuring legal compliance and defensibility and in maintaining confidence with public and community groups and decision-makers.
Prior to joining Grid Legal, Avneet was deputy city attorney for the cities of San Marcos and Lemon Grove, advising on land use and entitlement matters. Avneet continues working with clients on all stages of real property transactions, including negotiating and drafting purchase and sale agreements, option agreements and leases, title review, easements, shared use agreements and covenants, conditions and restrictions (CC&Rs); land use and development, including zoning opinions, entitlement and permit processing, and representation at public hearings; and, environmental review and analysis, including environmental impact reports, MNDs, and exemptions for residential, commercial and industrial projects.
As legal counsel for the planning commissions at both the City of San Marcos and Lemon Grove, Avneet attended and presided over the hearings, advising the Commissions on policy and procedures, conflicts of interest and compliance with the Brown Act.
Avneet is a Lecturer in the Fowler College of Business at San Diego State University where she teaches Business Law to aspiring business majors.
